Description

IP stands for Isidro Pereira—Luiz Paulo’s father—who purchased Fazenda IP in 1967. The estate has a long history, one passed down from father to son and marked by continuous evolution; in the 1990s, the family embraced the world of specialty coffee. Today, all coffee grown at Fazenda IP meets exceptionally high quality standards, earning the estate a spot in the finals of the Brazilian Cup of Excellence on multiple occasions in recent years—including this instance, with a lot scoring 86 points! The lot we selected for the Mokaflor Farm project is a hybrid of Typica and Bourbon, genetically very close to Mundo Novo, another widely grown variety in Brazil. One final detail about the farm to give you an idea of its scale: of the more than 700 hectares that make up Fazenda IP, a full 80 are dedicated to rainforest and a natural reserve, which is the source of 12 springs.
