Muhurile Amcos is a small cooperative located at an altitude of approximately 1,100 meters in the Kagera region of northwestern Tanzania, near Lake Victoria. The area features permeable, porous soil capable of retaining just enough water to ensure the plants receive a steady supply of moisture. It is precisely this balance of soil, altitude, and climate that fosters the production of high-quality Robusta coffee with a clean profile and rich aromatics. The cooperative is primarily composed of women, who play a vital role in providing technical and financial support to local smallholder farmers. Their daily efforts contribute to improved agricultural techniques and the economic and social growth of the region's rural communities. Muhurile Amcos coffee is certified organic and grown with full respect for the environment and biodiversity. The plants are cultivated without chemical fertilizers or pesticides, relying instead on sustainable farming practices and natural fertilizers. During the harvest season—running from April to July—the coffee cherries are hand-picked at peak ripeness. They undergo the "natural" processing method and are dried on raised beds, with the cherries constantly turned to ensure even drying and the careful selection of the best beans.
