Description

IP stands for Isidro Pereira—Luiz Paulo’s father—who purchased Fazenda IP in 1967. The estate has a long history, a legacy passed down from father to son and a story of evolution that led the family to embrace the quality of specialty coffee in the 1990s. Today, all coffee grown at Fazenda IP meets exceptionally high quality standards; in recent years, this has repeatedly earned the estate a spot in the finals of the Brazilian Cup of Excellence—just like this particular lot, which scored an impressive 86 points! The lot we selected for the Mokaflor Farm project is a hybrid of Typica and Bourbon, genetically very close to Mundo Novo—another widely grown variety in Brazil. To give you a better idea of the estate: of the more than 700 hectares that make up Fazenda IP, a full 80 hectares are dedicated to rainforest and a natural reserve, which is the source of 12 natural springs.
